Our Physicians

Mark S. Simmons, MD

I received my medical school residency training from the University of Kansas Medical Center from 1988 to 1996. Before moving to Fort Collins, I practiced in a large multi-specialty clinic in Garden City, Kansas.

I started Med Peds Clinic of Fort Collins in 1999 to offer medical services in a small, personalized environment. The top priority is the patient and family. I chose Fort Collins because of the need for primary care physicians and the many opportunities for families with regard to education, cultural events and activities.

I am married and have two sons. I was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota, and enjoy many of the outdoor activities this area has to offer.

Christina M. Lang, MD

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 1992. I then completed my medical school and residency training in Houston at the University of Texas from 1993 to 2001.

I thoroughly enjoy working at the Med Peds Clinic of Fort Collins with the comfortable atmosphere for patients and families. It has an intimate setting which promotes individualized care. This helps achieve continuity between patient and physician. I strive for long-lasting relationships with patients.

I am originally from central Texas and my husband is from Iowa. We have enjoyed living in Fort Collins with all the cultural and outdoor activities available. We have two young children, both natives of Fort Collins, and we look forward to introducing them to all the natural beauty Colorado has to offer.

Christopher R. Drysdale, MD

An east coast native, I completed my medical education from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2000. I subsequently moved west where I completed my residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Utah at Salt Lake City from 2000-2004. Upon completion of my residency, my wife and I were looking for a city to call home, leading us to Fort Collins.

I am proud to be a part of the Med Peds Clinic of Fort Collins. The clinic is a comprehensive primary care clinic that promotes excellent medical care while achieving a "small town" atmosphere. I hope to develop long term relationships with my patients and their families and believe that this clinic allows these relationships to grow.

I received my undergraduate education at McGill University in Montreal, Canada where I met my wife. We now have four children and have fallen in love with the mountains, the people, and culture of Colorado.

Craig Widness, MD

I am returning to Colorado after a 9-year hiatus in Rochester NY, and I'm very pleased to be calling Fort Collins my new home. I've lived a bit of everywhere, attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, and worked in Denver prior to my move to Rochester. In Rochester I completed my medical degree and residency training. Now, I'm heading back to the state I really call home.

I decided on Med Peds for the appeal of practicing medicine in a family-style atmosphere. I look forward to caring for patients and families in the comfort of the Med Peds Clinic of Fort Collins and developing relationships with them over years.

I am moving to Fort Collins with my wife Joanne and our dogs. We're looking forward to enjoying the mountains and sunshine that the Fort has to offer. In addition I enjoy triathlon, making (and eating) pizza, and gardening.
